Shane Mosley vs Floyd Mayweather Jr: Mosley-Mayweather Fight in 2010?

This item was filed under [ Entertainment ]

Is Shane Mosley the next fight for Floyd Mayweather Jr? The Mosley-Mayweather fight would be a blast. For one, Shane Mosley and Mayweather are comparable in speed, strength and other boxing skills. Floyd Mayweather might have a taste of what they call “the 0 must go” if ever he lost to Shane Mosley. And maybe, just maybe, the Shane Mosley fight (if it happens) will shut up the fast-talking Mayweather Jr who just defeated Juan Manuel Marquez in a boxing match that made me want to turn off the TV set as early as the 3rd round.

Floyd mayweather has already said that he fights for money not bragging rights. He has paid the cost to say that though, with a 40-0 record, becoming champion in just 1 year, 6x World Champion in 5 different weight classes, beating the likes of Corley, Gatti, Castillo 2x, Corralas, Judah, Baldamir, De La Hoya, Hatton, and now Marquez. He is the Pound 4 Pound King in a lot of people’s eyes. Shane Mosley wants a fight with Mayweather but Mosley has turned down 2 fights with Mayweather in the past!! So I cant help but to think Mosley just wants a big payday before he leaves the sport of boxing. Mosley should be fighting Paul Williams. Paul Williams destroyed Winky Wright who beat Mosley 2x, he also has beaten Antonio Margarito, a fighter that Shane has a TKO victory over. I think a fight between Williams and Mosley should benefit both fighter because they both complain about fighters ducking them. If Shane Mosley beat Williams then he deserves a mega fight with Mayweather and the same can be said for Williams. I think Floyd is waiting to see what happens between Cotto and Pacquiao because the winner will be at the top of the Pound 4 Pound list with Mayweather. Cotto has TKO victories over Corley, Judah, and beaten Mosley. Then there is Pacquiao who has KO victories over Morales, De La Hoya and Hatton, plus he has had 2 wars with Marquez, a draw and a close questionable win. Mayweather destroyed Marquez in a fight in which he came back from a 2 year lay off and Marquez was coming off 2 huge KO victories over 2 fighter that had never been knocked out Casamayor and Diaz. So as you can see I believe the fans would rather see Mayweather fight the winner of Cotto vs Pacquiao and the fight will be the biggest fight ever in the history of boxing, plus if the undercard is anything like the Mayweather vs Marquez card then it will live up to the hype, this event will crush all the records there are for boxing or a Pay Per View Event.

I agree. Mosley should fight Paul Williams and the winner would then have a strong case to fight the winner of Cotto vs. Mayweather. Mayweather will never fight Mosley or Paul Williams and would rather fight Cotto because Cotto generates a lot of money. But if Mosley were to beat Williams, the winner of Cotto/Mayweather would have Mosley in the wings. Cotto already beat Mosley but it was a close fight and a rematch would generate money. My predictions: Cotto beats Pacquiao by close/split decision; Mosley beats Wiliams by unanimous decision; Mayweather fights a tomato can and, of course, knocks him out; and Cotto beats Mayweather by a split decision; lastly, Cotto beats Mosley by split decision. Cotto becomes P4P best in the world.

“FLOYD MAYWEATHER”HANDS DOWN BECAUSE HE HAS MORE AMBITION,DRIVE,AND A GOOD HAND GAME AND MAYWEATHER HAS A BETTER WINNING RECORD THAN MOSLEY.HONESTLY THE AGE DIFFERENCE MATTERS AS WELL .WHILE MOSLEY IS ABOUT TO BE 40 IN JUST A FEW ACORN SEASONS, MAYWEATHER IS JUST HITTING HIS PRIME BECAUSE 30 IS THE NEW 20 AND I GUESS 40 IS THE NEW 30..SO WE WILL SEE BUT I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM FIGHT..I HOPE MAYWEATHER SIGNS THE PAPERS SOON!
