Mayweather-Marquez Fight Results: No Knockout for Mayweather Jr.

This item was filed under [ Entertainment ]

The Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Juan Manuel Marquez boxing match ended in a unanimous decision. The Mayweather-Marquez fight result is actually disgusting to many boxing fans worldwide. Some even threw not-so-friendly remarks against Mayweather’s fighting style which according to many is not exciting at all. No offense to Marquez but he did everything he could. He was simply outclassed. Maybe the Mayweather-Pacquiao will yield a different result. But let’s break down the Mayweather-Marquez fight results a bit more, not just the end result (no knockout for the Money Mayweather Jr).

Mayweather fought Marquez intelligently but not in an exciting fashion. Many sports fans (including this writer) did not enjoy the fight and prior to this welterweight bout, reports have circulated that it did not sell out. I personally can understand why. Mayweather has lost his appeal to fans who want to see brawlers – aggressive fighters who are willing to engage into a “fight” for the enjoyment of boxing fans.

Mayweather-Marquez Fight Result: Unanimous Decision

Mayweather improved his record to 40-0, 25 KOs while Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez fell to 50-5-1, 37 KOs. The fight was in teh welterweight division (144-lb weight class). Shane Mosley, in our view is going to be Floyd Mayweather’s next opponent, not Manny Pacquiao. From the looks of it, Mayweather Jr fears the Pacman’s power more than anybody else after seeing how Pacquaio easily made his former opponents (Oscar Dela Hoya of the US and Ricky Hatton of UK) suffer more in the ring. Pacquiao obviously made these two boxers (whom Mayweather also defeated) much smaller and less powerful than when they fought Money Mayweather Jr.

Man I feel boxing can never be a brutal brawling sport after Tyson. Mayweather I give props because he is smart in the ring. He doesn’t wanna get hit and thats a smart fighter. If he can stay underfeated his whole career he will be the best to ever do it. If he doesn’t, his career will be glorified as such greats like sugar ray leonard, roy, hoya, and others. But it will be cool if he can last for a while.40-0 stay undefeated nigga. Last night fight sucked but its aight when u see him connect almost perfectly. Hey Mayweather if u read this. this is from a real nigga, and i know boxing. jack johnson was the best. and your the best, stay the fucking best. keep these crackers happy, and poor niggas like me gloryfing my race baby.

He’s crafty, not intelligent. I should have been felt glorified for him had he fought with someone about his weight. That’s crafty, no more no less. For him, a fight well-won, not well-fought is a gauge for a good boxer. The bigger the number one wins, the better the boxer. You think fighting with a bigger ones like Cotto, Mosley, Hopkins stopped him from becoming one of the greats even if he lost? That’s a resounding NO. Come on, we’re talking of quality, not quantity.

Marquez was not outclass by the cocky Maywheater he was outrun, he should be called Floyd “Run” Mayweather, not only it was a boring side, he did not came to fight, he came to run!!! Did he fight intelligently? maybe yes..but did he actually fight Marquez? definitely not…He talks a lot of shit, but when asked about Manny Pacquiao he stops the conversation immediately…the big question is still..if he really want to prove he is still the best out there, why did he choose Marquez first over Pacquiao? which is considered by many the best out there, to prove that he is still the best?

he talks a lot of shit, but afraid to fight the big names in boxing…how many times did he avoid fighting the big names in boxing? Is he afraid of having a lost? his Uncle said that he is number one because he dont have a lost…Not always the case…depends on who you defeated, how did you fight the fight, not just out running your opponent. For me He is just one fighter who is too damn proud of himself and afraid to take risks for the enjoyment of Boxing fans, which is the most impotant thing…It is not just about yourself or your family, its putting up a good fight and a good show.its a boxing match, and fight fans expect them to fight not to run.
